REVIEW:

“The Elves come for two things: War and Wives In both cases, they come for death.”

A Deal With the Elf King is an enthralling tale of magic and an enemy to lover romance. Luella is a very brave MC who cares more about her people than what becomes of her. King Eldas is the fae king that we have all dreamt about. Chosen as the new Queen Luella is thrown into an unknown world filled with wild magic. The types of different magic in this world that are very intriguing. It was a lot of fun to read about them. Filled with magic of her own now Luella needs to master her magic with the help of Eldas or else she will die trying to save her new world.

King Eldas and Luella’s relationship development is a breath of fresh air compared to other enemies to lovers books. While there is still some back and forth with their feelings I feel like their reactions to each other are less extreme. They have some seriously adorable moments together. The inner struggles they both wrestle with are very normal things that I could easily relate to. The way this story twists and turns kept me wholly invested until it was around 2 am and I ended up finishing it in one sitting.

Elise created a world that I absolutely fell in love with. This was my first adventure with her, however, I am in the process of collecting them all. I loved every aspect of this book and look forward to the next Married to Magic installment.
